I have visited this tiny quiet beach numerous times. It is nearly a two hour drive from my home and I timed my shoots there according to sunset and tide. On this evening I had been standing 30-40 yards into the sea as the waves began to rise up above my knees. I slowly returned to shore after the sun went down and then noticed all of the foot prints in the sand. I immediately attached the 35mm lens to my Hasselblad and setup my tripod to make another series of photographs; I framed the pier with the lines in the sand. I knew I would need focus over a wide distance (the pier and the foot prints) however the light was low and changing rapidly. I made this exposure at f16 for 102 seconds.
